Who We Are

Next Level Layout is a Utah-based consultancy founded by Blain Thomas—melding Trimble-powered MEP field expertise with full-stack software craftsmanship.

Before NLL, our team designed, built, and operated commercial bitcoin-mining campuses across the U.S.—from Washington State to Ohio— installing 1 MW pilots up to 10 + MW deploymentsat each site. We even engineered a 40-ft modular container with integrated power distribution, environmental controls, and remote telemetry, giving operators real-time control over every rig from anywhere.

Closer to home, we applied the same layout-first mindset to a 170 +-head City Multi VRF system. Using Trimble points, we laser-marked hanger locations, delivered sectioned duct and line-set drawings, and prefabricated assemblies—cutting crane time and slashing install hours while keeping the GC's schedule intact.

Those Seattle-area HVAC successes underscored the power of layout-driven prefabrication—and sparked our obsession with AI-assisted design workflows. Blain even spent a semester in a master's program focused on AI for business, only to discover that the fastest way to learn frontier tech is to build with it—just like we did in the early bitcoin-mining days when there were no playbooks. We thrive where the manuals haven't been written yet.
